As part of the proposed nickel refinery’s EIS, ASK was commissioned to conduct a noise and vibration assessment. This included baseline noise monitoring, computer modelling and assessment against Queensland EPA EcoAccess guidelines. Noise modelling involved the review of some 900+ noise sources to determine sound power levels for areas within the plant. PEN and SoundPLAN computer programs were used to review potential noise exceedences and results were presented to the EPA in a post-EIS report.
