• Swanbank Industrial Land Use Study – Noise and Air Quality components;
• Kawana Industrial Estate. Noise assessment.
• Industrial Estate at Bonnick Road, Gympie. Noise interface assessment
• QCL Gladstone Lime plant. Design noise control measures and assess the environmental impact.
• QCL Gladstone clinker plant. Environmental assessment of operations, detailed environmental measurements, detailed plant measurements, modelling environmental noise levels and devise a suitable noise control strategy.
• QCL Gladstone EIS covering expansion of the QCL plant, mine and new rail transportation corridor. Project involved site visit, monitoring, modelling of noise emissions, nomination of noise control measures and assistance during extensive community consultation phase.
• QCL Mt Larcom Investigation and design of noise control measures for rail loader.
• Queensland Nickel (QNI), Yabulu (north of Townsville). Conducted a noise survey and noise impact assessment. The major noise sources were determined and noise controls proposed.
• A number of Port of Brisbane Corporation Developments.
• AES Mount Stuart gas turbine power station EIS. Noise impact assessment.
• Comalco Aluminium Refinery - Gladstone. Noise aspects of EIS.
• AMC - Stanwell. Noise aspects of EIS.
• QAL Environmental and Occupational noise measurements and contouring software development.
• Various quarries and other extractive industry sites, land fill etc. Projects usually involve monitoring, modelling phases and report preparation.
• Design of noise control measures for diesel power generator in Tonga.
• Stanwell: Assessment of noise level emissions and noise modelling for existing operations.
• Sunnybrand Chickens, Byron Bay: Noise impact assessment.
• Rockhampton Land Fill: Noise assessment
• Girrah EIS - Arco Coal Australia Inc: contributed to the Environmental Management Operations Strategy (E.M.O.S.)
• Moorevale Mine EIS – Australian Premium Coals prepared the noise and air quality components of the EIS.
• Blackwater - Connell Wagner (Gladstone): ASK undertook a preliminary desk top assessment of the noise impact of the proposed Blackwater mine workshop and designed treatment strategies.
• East End Mine and Lime Plant – QCL Impact assessments studies.
• Hail Creek – Minenco: A noise impact assessment was prepared and included in the EIS. The mine is now fully operational.
• Mt Larcom Limestone Mine QCL Mt Larcom Limestone Mine: Assessment of revised work practices.
• ACI Silica Outloading Facility, Dunwich: ASK assessed the noise, vibration and air quality (dust) impact associated with the implementation of a new silica sand outloading facility for ACI Industrial Minerals at Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island.
• Curragh East Mine: ASK prepared a general description of the existing background noise and dust environment for the proposed Curragh East Mine.
• Barralaba Coal Mine – EH&S Systems: ASK Consulting Engineers prepared air quality and noise components for the EMOS (Environmental Management Operations Systems) for the Baralaba Coal Project mine operations.
• Brigalow to Tarong Railway – Kinhill: This study addressed the aspects of noise and dust associated with development and operation of the rail line proposed between Glen Wilga, near Brigalow, to the Tarong Power Station, a length of approximately 180 km of standard gauge line and included a rail loading facility.
• Blair Athol: ASK Consulting Engineers has carried out a number of the bi-annual noise and vibration survey for Blair Athol Coal since 1998.
• Tarong Coal: ASK Consulting Engineers has carried out several noise and vibration surveys for Tarong Coal as well as an ambient noise survey during a maintenance shut-down.
• Other Extractive Operations Including Quarries: ASK team members have experience with many large mining projects including Gordonstone Mine (noise and dust surveys), McArthur River Mine, Century Zinc Mine, Dalrymple bay and Hay Point Coal terminal facilities.
• ASK have undertaken numerous noise and dust monitoring exercises and environmental impact assessments/studies for quarries and sand extraction industries. Over the past 10 years. Clients include Boral, Pioneer, CSR and independent producers.
• Port of Brisbane Corporation: ASK recently worked on a study for the Port of Brisbane Corporation. The study addressed the comparative corrosion potential in relocating a car storage facility to the Port of Brisbane from a site further away from the coast. As a result ASK is intimately aware of the needs of the car storage companies and other pertinent aspects of the project.
